My aim is to give you the support, resources, and guidance you need to feel confident and empowered. Together, we can advocate for the support and services for your child based on their needs. You’ll never feel isolated or alone with me by your side.
How I Can Help You
I offer advocacy services year-round for families with children ages 3-22 in the greater Houston area.
Get Informed
As an advocate for special education, I offer guidance on your and your child’s rights and recommend accommodations, supports, and services based on your child’s individual needs. I can review assessments and reports and explain them in a way that pertains to your child’s educational requirements.
Get Empowered
I can accompany you to ARD and Section 504 Plan meetings, and provide advice and assistance throughout the special education process. Additionally, I will review draft ARD and Section 504 Plan documents and provide feedback before you sign them. My role is to help you get your concerns heard by the school district and help in resolving any disputes that may arise. My aim is to empower, train, and provide information to parents and their children to increase their advocacy skills.
Get Prepared
As your advocate, I can help you prepare for meetings by proposing goals and accommodations, reviewing data, and assisting you in putting concerns and requests in writing. I can discuss recommendations with you based on my review of both school records and private reports. I can also assist you in drafting letters and written requests or complaints to the school or district. My goal is to work collaboratively with you and the school district to help create an education plan based on your child’s individual needs.
Get Connected
As an advocate, not only do I help families navigate the special education process, but I also assist them in finding resources in the community. I understand that parents are often busy and have many responsibilities, which leaves them with little time to explore support options. At Davis Advocates, I can help you find the resources and agencies that you need to get the support you require.
Additional Information
I do not file for nor attend due process hearings. I also do not attend mediation. I recommend securing the services of a special education attorney should you need mediation or file for due process.
